We will hold 2 or 3 workshops on Friday afternoon. These will be short talks on tips, tricks and knowledge-sharing for bird banders. We are currently seeking one more volunteer to deliver a workshop. Below are some of the folks who had agreed to host workshops for us in 2020. We hope they will be able to do so at our re-scheduled 2022 meeting.
We hope to have Bob Yunick present “Knest Box Knowledge and Band Removal.” Bob started as a backyard bird bander in 1950 , banding to date nearly 220,000 birds and 203 species far beyond his backyard. He has monitored as many as 200 nest boxes per year along the way.
Annie Lindsay will present on Molt and Molt Limits: sharing her expertise in ageing birds by examining feather tracts for differences between juvenile feathers and retained adult feathers. Annie is the Banding Program Manager at Powdermill Avian Research Center and has been banding birds for 20 years.
